Biography

Teresa Freeborn joined Xceed Financial Credit Union (Xceed) on September 25, 2006, as President and Chief Executive. Freeborn oversees all aspects of the Credit Union’s operations and represents Xceed globally. With sixteen Financial Centers in six states, Xceed currently serves more than 74,000 members and has more than $750 million in assets.

Freeborn brings more than 37 years of credit union experience across the breadth of the credit union system. Before joining Xceed, Teresa was a key member of Kinecta Federal Credit Union’s executive staff serving as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications as well as President of Kinecta Financial and Insurance Services. Prior to moving to the United States from Canada, Freeborn held the position of Vice President, Services & Communications at Credit Union Central of British Columbia.

Freeborn is an active advocate in the credit union movement. She is a member of the Research Council for the Filene Research Institute, a member of the California Credit Union League’s Public Advocacy Oversight Committee, and chair of the Credit Union For Kids Advisory Board–Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. She currently serves as a member of the executive committee on the Board of Directors for the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES) and is the chair of CUES’ Membership and Research Committee. She is also a member of the Western CUNA Management School Board of Trustees.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Freeborn holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University and currently resides in Redondo Beach, California.
